Hayato Kumagai / Artist
Born in Oita, Japan in 1991. Currently resides in Hokkaido.
In 2016, He started making collage paintings after seeing trees looked like deer, autumn leaves looked like bird.
Since then he has continued his journey while drawing, tracing the roots of life and the beginning of existence.
In 2019, he created an enormous collage painting “The Light of the Beginning” (about 3.6 × 5.4m). It has been on a traveling exhibition “The Sail of Wind” in Japan since 2023, and it will eventually be burned.
Drawing is like a deity that sprouts images everywhere in the world like the wind. I believe that there is an incomparable light that brings people to another time. As long as life goes on, I would like to continue drawing forever.
